I plan to use this page to say a little about myself and the projects I'm working on. I hope it will lead to some interesting collaborative projects with others!

A bit of background

I'm just over half way through my Masters in Education (Educational Technology) at the University of Southern Queensland. I'm currently enrolled in FET8611: Emerging Environments for Learning. My last course was FET5622: Creating Interactive Multimedia. I'm finding that in tertiary education, the current environments don't always allow us to create the kind of learning experiences that we would like for our distance students. This course is allowing me to explore some of the new tools available to see if they will help achieve some of what we want to achieve. As well, I believe that most learning takes place in informal environments, and I find now that most of my learning is occuring through listservs, blogs and other forms of community networking. Bringing these kinds of learning into our formal environments is one way we can encourage lifelong learning in our students.
